A virgin mother, tired and weak from her plight So weary and drained, she needed to stop for the night
They traveled for miles by the light of the moon,
And the Innkeeper shrugged and simply replied “I’m sorry there’s just no more room”
Seeing this mother’s pain he simply couldn’t turn her away And from the kindness of his heart, found one last place to stay.
It’s really not that roomy, hay is not much of a bed It’s better than nothing Mary gratefully smiled a place to rest my head.

As I passed him by The scent him, of years ago, enveloped me, suffocating me.
After he passed I closed my eyes and sat on the grass feeling it prickle against my bare legs. The bright glare of the sun brightening my view of my eyelids Into an orange glow.
As I lie warming in the sunlight, catlike and confident of my privacy I retreated into my self.
